Nigel Morrison

Nigel has forty years’ experience in the property development industry in the UK and Europe. After training as an accountant he quickly became one of Glasgow’s leading residential developers. This led on to commercial developments in Glasgow and Newcastle before moving to London to form Midtown Properties Limited, a subsidiary of the WCRS Group plc, where he was a major shareholder and managing director. The main work involved a number of centrally located London office developments. This Company reversed into the Finlan Group plc. where he became a major shareholder and commercial property director.

In 1990 Nigel left to take up the position of managing director of Arlington Securities (Central Europe) Limited (the BAe plc European property subsidiary of which he was a substantial shareholder). In personal negotiations with the Federal Prime Minister of the Czechoslovakian Government, he initiated a major country-wide initiative in an “offset” involving development land in exchange for other BAe products such as airfield construction, ordinance, aircraft manufacture etc.

Thereafter he formed his own consultancy, working extensively at a high level in Poland, Hungary and Czechoslovakia. He was involved in developments leading up to the winning of the 2012 Olympics and in negotiations with the LDA over innovative and alternative funding opportunities.

Mark Morrison

Mark trained as a Surveyor at Kingston Upon Thames, London and after obtaining his degree worked for Savills in the Far East in 1999. Since 2003 he has been involved in development management, and construction in France and the USA.

Successfully managing multiple residential developments in France. In the USA he negotiated multiple land options over some 600 acres which enabled a planning permission and the even  more complicated ‘water rights’ to be achieved to allow for a major new leisure resort.

He has established a good knowledge of the workings of the French construction and legal processes. He is currently managing the CEPACS building teams for delivering our own and our clients projects.

Gary O’Brien (ACMA, MBIM)

Gary commenced his career as a chartered management accountant, progressing through companies such as Allied Lyons, Granada Group, Black & Decker and joining Max Factor in 1982 as deputy managing director and finance director during which time the company went from being loss making to the most profitable division in the worldwide operation. He joined the Board of the Burton Group in 1986 instituting significant changes which saw the Group increase earnings per share through the recession of the late 1980s/early 1990s. County Nat West then introduced Gary to the Ratners Group (now Signet) in 1990, where he arranged two re-financings for the Group involving no less than 32 banks, eventually seeing it return to profit. Gary’s career then turned to private companies when in 1995 he joined the Board of Facia Limited as Chief Operating Officer for approximately one year. Subsequently, he has been involved with IT, corporate finance, financial services marketing, telecommunications businesses, leisure businesses.

Gary was also the joint founder of Chiltern Management Limited, which has established itself as a leading advisor in the area of renewable energy. Chiltern also undertakes property investment and development.

Duncan Kirkby

Duncan came to Milton Keynes from the Royal Agricultural College in 1971 and joined Milton Keynes Development Corporation managing their agricultural estate. After 3 years in private practice, locally, he founded Kirkby & Diamond in 1980 and was senior partner until leaving in 1996. During his time at Kirkby & Diamond, it grew to become one of the largest private practices in the area providing professional services ranging from General Practice to Quantity Surveying.  Duncan headed up the residential side of the practice which, together with an emergent energy assessment arm. Duncan provides a wealth of property and construction knowledge, together with a vast data base of contacts throughout the Southeast of England.

Ian Dunkley (MRCIS)

Ian achieved an honours in Land Management from DeMontford. Following this he has had nearly 10years of experience in the property sector; ranging from portfolio management through to project management of both commercial and industrial development scheme’s.

Ian worked as the Development Director of Ashtenne Industrial Fund which is owned by Warner Estate Holdings. In this role Ian has undertaken some 12 schemes accounting for £85million of development.

This included scheme’s such as a 38,000sq ft extension to an automotive service centre for Corus/ 75,000sq ft of new industrial and office space/ achieved consent for 232,000sq ft of mixed use valued at £28m.

Prior to his period with Ashtenne, Ian managed a third of Asda’s property portfolio of some £450m.
His experience in both project and portfolio management adds a valuable dimension to CEPACS.
